A Smile

A smile can reach across the room to someone who is sad,
And make them feel within themselves that they too should be glad,
A smile can change an angry word,
To something good that can be heard.

A smile can give encouragement when times are hard to bear,
It makes one feel one's not alone and there is someone who will care,
A mother's smile to her young child is the most special one of all,
It tells the child where there is love and makes them feel so tall.

A smile is precious to everyone, it brings that inner glow,
That sends out rays of happiness that all can feel and show,
A smile can do a thousand things, so next time you are sad,
