Peace
Why can't you leave me in peace? Oh that loud music next door, I wish they would give me some peace! Oh no, the baby wants feeding, I wish he would give me 5 minutes peace. My mother's ill, my father's lost his job.
We could go on and on wishing that we could be at peace. But what does it really mean? It doesn't mean if the music stops we will have peace or the baby is quiet we will have peace. Or for that matter whatever we think is disturbing us would stop and we would have peace.
Not many people know that we all have peace inside ourselves. We don't have to look any further or blame anyone else if we are not at peace. We have to build peace inside for us to have peace. That means first of all not blaming anyone else but the self if we are not peaceful.
It's our reactions that disturb the peace! If we react with anger, we have lost our peace, if we resent we have lost our peace, if we blame others we have lost our peace. All very disturbing emotions. So what we have to do is get rid of them. By replacing a bad one with a good one, we begin to clear out the rubbish we ourselves have put in ourselves.
Peace is a heavenly feeling inside us when we are in harmony with ourselves and all is well with the world. A very difficult task in this world today with all the suffering and war going on. What goes in, must come out!
If we are careful about what we watch on the TV, listen to on the radio, or read in the newspaper, it is a first step in the right direction. Then we have to be careful about the people we have contact with. If they don't care about learning to be better people, we should stay clear of them. It is important to associate with people of like mind. That is, having the same values. Learning to love, to be patient and kind, to be tolerant and true, sincere and compassionate etc.
This is a very important part of our being and to find out more about how you can be at peace, visit our website to go into further detail of how this wonderful feeling can be active in your life.
