Life In Our Own Hands
Recently, a friend of mine whom I knew for nearly 50 years passed over suddenly and unexpectedly. Like me, Richard had always been interested in Gladys' teachings. His wife was older than him and I always assumed that she would go first. I was rather shocked when she rang to tell me the sad news, but then I remembered a dream I had had only two nights before my friend died.
In the dream I was walking next to Richard, and we were following two men who were senior to us. We came to a glass-fronted building with large glazed doors. The men in front took out keys and unlocked the doors and we all went inside. The foyer was filled with large vases of flowers. Richard was asked if he wanted to help himself, and he took a most beautiful bouquet of yellow flowers. This he carried upstairs in the building, to where he would be shown what he was going to do.
Now the dream made sense to me. For this was Richard's inner self electing to follow a course of action during sleep that would result in him giving up his earth life. It means that during his last days on earth he would inwardly have known what was going to happen, even though his brain had little idea. I was privileged to accompany him in the dream, and to be able to report back to his wife what I had witnessed.
The two men we followed into the building were senior, I feel, because of their standing in the Spirit. Such as these can advise us on our passage into the worlds unseen, and will open the door to places higher than the earth for those who have earned the right to go there. Here we see that Richard did indeed earn the right. The yellow of the flowers is perhaps one of the most wonderful colours of the Spirit, showing that the soul is sufficiently strong to back our thoughts and actions with goodwill. And of course flowers denote love; both that which is given and that which is received. I feel sure that Richard will do well in the role he has taken up in his new life, for he is someone that always wanted to serve humanity in one capacity or other.
What this tells us is that we need never fear death or what comes after it if we give some thought and time to feeding the soul. This is not done so much with religious belief, but through watching our feelings, and learning by our mistakes to become tolerant, kind and peaceful. It may seem to take forever to make progress, but, with perseverance, each day can see us make a small change of some sort that will add a little more light to the soul. That light gives power to our inner self to work with our brain and the matter self towards a worthwhile, fulfilling life. If we cast aside doubt and open our eyes to see, then the truth of these things will become apparent, blessing us and all those that we talk to.
