Falling Stars
Have you ever looked up at night and seen a shooting star, a streak of light cutting across the blackness of the sky when a meteor falls to earth? Revelation, the last book of the Bible, tells of the stars of heaven falling from the sky, like untimely or unripe figs shaken from the tree by a mighty wind. In symbol language this represents people of good character returning to earth, taking on the additional body of matter once more.
Perhaps all like ourselves who wish to serve the light are those fallen stars, the figs not yet ripe meaning there are still lessons to learn. Being shaken by the wind, symbolising the powerful motivation of the Spirit, reveals that now is the right time to take on those lessons. The earth world is teetering on the edge of the abyss, caught in the deadly battle between darkness and light. This battle is what Revelation refers to as Armageddon. Some may laugh, but those who sincerely want to see the truth of it can play their part in protecting everything that is good from being lost. No one need fear, though we should be aware that every day counts, and every night too when asking sincerely to continue our spiritual education during sleep.
Jesus, a Master Teacher, taught that the truth of the self is known by what we hold in our hearts, more so than what is said or done before others. This is why we should examine our feelings in order to overcome animosity and intolerance towards others. Doing so creates a foundation upon which peacefulness and wisdom can develop. But living as we do in a darkened plane of life needs us to become strong with the light we ourselves build, for not always is it possible to receive help from those in Spirit. Similarly, the possibility of healing both body and mind is more assured when light is already growing about the self.
Our journey through life can in many ways be likened to the path of a shooting star through the heavens. We too make our mark upon the world as the colours of our aura spread out into the atmosphere. Dare we aspire to leave a trail of light wherever we go, leaving a blessing in our wake? This is what happens when our soul thrives from expressing good will – not always spoken in words but emanating from oneself as bright, beautiful colour, unseen yet felt by others. In addition it will automatically displace an opposing negative feeling resident in the ethers, one that we might well have left behind at some point previously, even in a past incarnation.
For this is what happens. We come into the earth and go, leaving our impression upon the ethers and returning time after time until learning how to bless and not curse; learning to send love into the atmosphere and not to harbour dislike or hatred – even regarding those who seem to warrant it. Many are the negative thoughts of dissatisfaction, frustration and impatience that come easily to the brain. Justifying such habitual feelings brings darker colours into the aura and an upsurge of emotions all vying with each other and fragmenting the mind. Then might we be compared not to a shooting star but to a fireball, a meteor that flames through the heavens, exploding before reaching the ground.
It is never too late to decide to put our house in order, not by disciplining the self but by looking at how our reaction to everything that happens might be improved by using a quiet mind. This is gradually made easier by gaining the cooperation of the inner self, taking notice of the essential points in the dreams we begin to receive. Every individual effort towards harmony has value, putting the future very much in our own hands.
